VIRTUAL: A Visit with Tsongas Industrial History Center ("The Life & Work of Mill Girls")

Follow the journey of a mill girl from her family farm in the New England countryside to her new job operating a loom in Lowell’s Boott Cotton Mills. Meet two mill girls during this virtual visit to their boardinghouse and weave room, learning about each girl's unique experience of life and work in a textile mill, and experience a bit of what it was like to work in the mills. Led by Supervisory Park Ranger MaryBeth Faucher, of the Tsongas Industrial History Center.
The Tsongas Industrial History Center, situated in Lowell, is a hands-on center where students learn about the American Industrial Revolution through activities and tours of the sites where history -- and science -- happened. The History Center is an education partnership between the University of Massachusetts Lowell School of Education and National Park Service at Lowell National Historical Park.
