Your host for tonight’s voyage is Daniel Harrington. Mr. Harrington, a self-described recovering politician, is a former East Providence City Councilor and long-time monthly columnist for the Providence Journal. He presently works as a Securities Principal for MassMutual and serves as a Director for the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame.

In 2014, Ed Achorn (pronounced A-Corn), Editor of the Providence Journal, hired Mr. Harrington as a columnist after publishing several of his unsolicited letters to the editor.  Over the next 9 years Mr. Harrington would publish 115 monthly pieces on a wide range of topics.  But of all the subjects he explored, the sinking of the Larchmont and his accompanying piece, “John Anson what Have you Done?” haunted him throughout the years and prompted him to continue his research.
